DUI Charges Follow Traffic Crash Investigations: HP Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

THEFT
A resident in the 2700 block of Mavor Lane reported around 6 p.m. on July 20 that someone had stolen a riding lawn mower from a storage shed in the backyard of the residence.

BURGLARY
A resident in the 1100 block of Half Day Road reported at 7:32 p.m. on July 20 that someone had stolen a modem from their garage.

THEFT
A resident in the 500 block of Sumac Road reported at 9:35 a.m. on July 11 that they had gotten a card in the mail that was missing a $50 gift card. It was not known at the time of the report how or when the gift card was taken.

CAR BURGLARY
Someone stole various charge from an unlocked car in the 500 block of Roger Williams Avenue sometime prior to 12:11 p.m. on July 18.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 1800 block of Sunnyside Avenue reported at 9:11 p.m. on July 16 that someone had used black spray paint to draw graffiti on the roadway in front of their home.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Avis Lloyd-Kimbel, 71, of the 0-100 block of Court of Wilmington in Lincolnshire, was arrested at 8:18 p.m. on July 20 and charged with driving under the influence when police responded to an accident near 50 Skokie Valley Road. There were no injuries reported.

Armando Bautista-Munoz, 27, of the 100 block of Filbert Drive in Streamwood, was arrested at 12:25 a.m. on July 21 and charged with driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis when police responded to an accident in the 1100 block of Half Day Road. There were no injuries reported.

Ricardo Arellano, 22, of the 300 block of Butrick Street in Waukegan, was arrested at 3:42 a.m. on July 23 and charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest by police following a traffic stop for speeding at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue.
