DUI, Felony Weed Charges For Driver On Probation: HP Blotter
A home burglary, 2 warrant arrests and 2 DUI arrests are included on the Highland Park Police Blotter for March 27 - April 2.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
THEFT
A resident in the 0-100 block of Normandy Street reported on the evening of March 26 that someone had stolen a wind chime from the front yard of a home.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone forced their way into a home in the 2800 block of Lexington Lane through a rear sliding door sometime between 5:40 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. on March 27. The home was ransacked, and a camera and coins were reported stolen.
CAR BURGLARY
Between 2 and 5 p.m. on March 29, someone reportedly stole a wallet from an unlocked car parked in the 400 block of Laurel Avenue. Credit cards in the wallet were later used fraudulently.

SHOPLIFTING
Someone stole two bottles of alcohol from a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road sometime between 10 and 11 p.m. on March 30.
Someone stole multiple bicycle computers and head lamps from a store in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road prior to 11 a.m. on March 31 and left without paying.
ARRESTS
Enrique Perez, 50, of the 200 block of Sard Place in Highland Park, was arrested at 5:26 a.m. on March 27 in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road and charged with driving under the influence after police responded to a call to assist a motorist.
Keira Mullen, 20, of the 0-100 block of June Street in Lake Forest, was arrested at 9:53 a.m. on March 29 on a Lake County Sheriff's Office warrant for failure to appear in court after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road.
A 28-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 8:05 p.m. on March 30 and charged with driving while license revoked following a traffic stop in the 800 block of Central Avenue. He was also issued citations for open transportation of alcohol and disobeying a no turns sign.
Philip Batts, 36, of the 1800 block of Grand Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested at 12:33 a.m. on April 2 on a warrant issued by the Lake County Sheriff's Office warrant failing to appear in court in connection with a DUI case after police were called to help a citizen in the 700 block of Park Avenue West.
Damilo Stokes, 23, of the 300 block of Green Bay Road in Waukegan, was arrested at 2:59 a.m. on April 2 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, without a valid license and with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08 – as well as felony possession of between 100 and 500 grams of marijuana – following a traffic stop near the intersection of Half Day and Skokie Valley roads. He was also accused of speeding more than 26 miles above the speed limit, using lanes improperly and illegally transporting alcohol.

In August 2017, Stokes pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and destruction of evidence as prosecutors dropped a charge of aggravated unlawful use of an unlicensed loaded firearm in exchange for two years of probation, according to court records. After his arrest early Monday morning, he was ordered held at Lake County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $25,000 bond ahead of an April 10 court appearance.
