Duo Implies Weapon In Saturday Morning Drug Robbery: HP Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

CAR BURGLARIES
Six car burglaries were reported on the morning of June 5. Although police did not describe the vehicles as unlocked, in each case reports noted there was no sign of any forced entry.

In the 1000 block of Marion Avenue, someone stole items worth less than $30. In the 200 block of Leslee Lane, someone stole an insignificant number of items from one vehicle. In another, workout clothing and other items were stolen.

In the 400 block of Hillside Drive and in the 500 block of Clavey Court, someone stole items of undisclosed value. And in the 600 block of Hillside Drive, someone stole "numerous items of undisclosed value."

(ARMED?) ROBBERY
Two unidentified people walked into a business in the 1500 block of Clavey Road around 6 a.m. on June 9. They approached an employee and implied that they were armed. The pair battered the employee and then stole prescription medications from the business. More information was not immediately available.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Jennifer Lawless, 46, of the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, was arrested at 11:14 p.m. on June 8 and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop at the intersection of Roger Williams and Judson Road.

Carl Vassar, 57, of the 2600 block of East 198th Street in Lynwood, was arrested at 11:38 p.m. on June 10 and charged with driving under the influence following an investigation into a two-car traffic crash in the area of Green Bay Road and Ravinia Glen Place.
