Effort Begins to Save Briergate Station
The historic Highland Park train station served commuters on the North Shore Line during the mid 20th century.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - An effort to save the historic Briergate station in Highland Park has begun.
As the only surviving station that was part of the Skokie Valley Route of the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railway (North Shore Line), Briergate served thousands of commuters from 1926 to 1963, according to information on a GoFundMe page requesting donations to help save the structure.
Briergate was one of only three stations on the entire North Shore Line saved, and had been used as commercial space for some years afterward.
