Gordon Salon Announces "Gordon Cares" Program

With the holidays around the corner, Gordon Salon owners Tony and Pam Gordon wanted to help those less fortunate so they created "Gordon Cares", a program to collect donations for local charity organizations at their salons.

Each of Gordon Salon's four Chicagoland locations have teamed up with a charity and will be collecting donations now through Wednesday, December 14. As a fun perk to get involved, anyone who donates will be entered to win a free haircut.

Glenview salon supports Connections for the Homeless

- Provides housing, education and supportive services for people in help of moving out of homelessness

• Accepting donations of clothing for adults, socks, chapstick, toiletries, bath towels, blankets and sheets (twin or full), and bottled water

Highland Park salon supports Mary Lou's Place

- Shelter serving women and children fleeing domestic violence with transitional living, counseling services, health education and employment assistance.

• Accepting donations of women's pajamas, blankets, hats, scarves, mittens, coats, children's books, feminine hygiene products and baby products

Lakeview salon supports Open Door Youth

- Housing and supportive services for runaway and homeless youth in Chicago

• Accepting donations for bath linens, crib linens, toiletries, baby wash, oil or lotion, baby bottle, trail mix and chex mix

Wilmette salon supports Family Promise North Shore

- Assists families with young children to find housing, stable employment and self-sufficiency.

• Accepting donations for CTA cards, laundry supplies, toiletries, baby products, student back packs, OTC medicine, cleaning products, bed pillows

Founded by Tony and Pam Gordon in 1999, Gordon Salon is an Aveda Lifestyle salon using only eco-friendly products with four salons, one in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood and three on the North Shore in Glenview, Highland Park and Wilmette.
