Graffiti Found at Skate Park: Cops
Catalytic converter removed from car during day on Skokie Valley Road.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Hector Mejia, Jr., 27, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1400 block of Half Day Road at 12:44 a.m. on May 6.

DOMESTIC BATTERY
Joseph Brom, 25, of the 200 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police responded to a physical dispute in the 200 block of Green Bay Road at 10:45 a.m. on May 6.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Steven Mistarz, 32, of the 1300 block of Ridge Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in near Half Day Road and Ridge Road at 8:03 a.m. on May 8.
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Elia Teliz-Gonzalez, 40, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1000 block of Park Avenue West at 3:02 p.m. on May 10.
BURGLARY
Unknown person(s) entered a church in the 1500 block of Half Day Road sometime between 9:30 p.m. on May 6, and 9:15 a.m. on May 7 and stole cash from an unlocked lockbox in a locked cabinet. A safe in a different room was found to have pry marks on it, but was not entered.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Black symbols were spray painted at the skate park located in the 1800 block of Sunset Road at 10:50 a.m. on May 8. The graphics appeared to be of a skull wearing a gas mask in black spray paint.
THEFT
Sometime between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 7, a catalytic converter was removed from a Chevrolet Malibu while parked in a lot in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road.
THEFT
Sometime between 11:40 a.m. and noon on May 18, unknown person(s) stole a set of golf clubs and a golf bag while left unsecured on a front porch of a residence in the 600 block of Rice Street.
BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE
Sometime overnight between May 8 and 9, a window on a Honda Civic was broken while the vehicle was parked in a lot in the 1800 block of Second Street. A purse left under a seat was missing which contained a passport, debit card and cash.
THEFT
Unknown person(s) stole a set of vehicle keys located inside a gym bag that was placed in an unsecured locker between 1-3:35 p.m. on May 9 at a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road. The keys were used to enter the vehicle and steal a wallet containing a driver’s license, debit card and cash. The keys were then left inside of the vehicle.
