Gun Stolen From Parked Car, Owner Unsure If Locked: Blotter
55-year-old charged with contributing to the criminal delinquency of a minor, drug paraphernalia: Highland Park Police Blotter, Feb. 11–17

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police department and court records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
CAR BURGLARIES
- A resident in the 3000 block of Patten Road reported someone burglarized an unlocked car during the overnight hours of Feb. 11–12. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.
- Another resident in the 3000 block of Patten Road reported someone stole $10 from an unlocked car during the overnight hours of Feb. 11–12.
- A resident in the 3100 block of Patten Road reported someone got into an unlocked car during the overnight hours of Feb. 11–12. Nothing was reported stolen.
- A resident in the 3000 block of Chatfield Drive reported a car burglar stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours of Feb. 11–12.
- Someone stole a gun from inside a vehicle parked in the 300 block of North Deere Park Drive. Nothing else was reported stolen and the vehicle's owner did not know whether or not the car had been locked.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 100 block of Aspen Lane reported around 9 a.m. on Feb. 17 that someone had broken into a home. Officers reported the interior of the home had been ransacked but, at the time of the report, were uncertain what items were stolen, if any.

ARRESTS
Joseph Torres, 21, of the 100 block of Washington Terrace, Waukegan, was arrested at 4:21 a.m. on Feb. 14 following a traffic stop in the area of Skokie Valley Road and Lake Cook Road. He was charged with DUI–combination of alcohol and drugs and ticketed for speeding.

Rodney Valdez, 30, of the 3800 block of Honore Street, Chicago, was arrested at 4:22 a.m. on Feb. 15 following a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Central Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and obstructing police. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Jake Boedicker, 20, of the 100 block of Radcliffe, Glenview, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. on Feb. 16 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis following a traffic stop in the first block of Skokie Valley Road.
Lauro Mendoza, 42, of the 2000 block of N. 17th Avenue, Melrose Park, was arrested at 11:54 p.m. on Feb. 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road. Mendoza was also issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to signal, improper lane usage, following too closely and speeding 26 to 30 mph over the limit.
Jordan Green, 22, of the 5800 block of 21st Avenue, Kenosha, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Feb. 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and with a valid license or insurance following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Deerfield Road. Green was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Jesus Munoz, 59, of the 1900 block of N. Nicole Lane, Round Lake Beach, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Parkside Drive. He was also issued a citation for illegal transportation of alcohol.
Elias Ramirez-De Los Santos, 39, of the 5100 block of W. Medill, Chicago, turned himself in to the Highland Park Police Department shortly after 8 p.m. on Feb. 13 on an outstanding warrant from 2009 for failure to appear in connection with a charge of DUI.
Jason Powell, 55, of the 400 block of Hazel Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. on Feb. 14 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the criminal delinquency of a minor and permitting a gathering knowing people are under 21 after police were dispatched to a citizen assist call in his block of residence.
