Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park 2019 Grants

HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION OF HIGHLAND PARK ANNOUNCES 2019 GRANT AWARDS

The Board of Trustees of the Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park (HFHP) is pleased to announce the 2019 grant awards. Funds were awarded to mostly smaller not-for-profit organizations that are committed to changing the lives of the most vulnerable individuals in our midst. The grants target specific programs that address currently unmet needs for individuals with physical and mental health issues.

Since its inception in 2000, the Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park has given close to $100 million to more than 50 charities. During the coming year, almost $6 million will be given to 64 501(c) (3) organizations that are committed to improving healthcare and quality of life for otherwise unserved and underserved individuals in the geographic area served by NorthShore Health System Highland Park Hospital, formerly Highland Park Hospital. Funding is provided for medical screenings, mental health services, programs for individuals with special needs, therapy for disabilities, and counseling for victims of sexual assault, to name a few.

“Our all-volunteer Board of Trustees takes great pride in their work,” stated Jim Styer, Chairman of the Board. “In addition to granting funds, we make every effort to become involved with our grant recipients by meeting with them and offering suggestions as to how they might enhance their programs. We also host a yearly breakfast to provide a forum for grantees to share ideas, find ways to work together and grow their successes. We believe that we have a very important role in safeguarding excellence in available community healthcare and hopefully, the HFHP will remain in existence in perpetuity. ”
