Highland Park Man Suspected Of Drunk Driving In Deadly Crash

Alcohol and speeding are suspected to be factors in a fatal July 4 one-car crash in Waukegan.

WAUKEGAN, IL — A Highland Park man in his 20s was taken into custody Thursday night after a car he was driving crashed into a tree in Waukegan, police said. He suffered moderate injuries from the crash, but his passenger, a North Chicago man in his 20s, was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced dead.
