Highland Park Senior Living Community Among Best In The U.S.: Ranking
U.S. News evaluated more than 3,000 communities nationwide to determine which ones have the best care and resident services.
HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A Highland Park assisted living community is among the best in the nation, according to a new ranking from U.S. News.
The 2026 edition of U.S. News' Best Senior Living ratings names 1,614 communities and recognizes them for their excellence in care and resident satisfaction. The ratings aim to assist older adults and their families in navigating the complex search for independent living, assisted living, memory care or continuing care retirement communities.
U.S.News evaluated 187 Senior Living Communities in Illinois and found that Sunrise of Highland Park was among the best communities. Residents appreciate Sunrise's homey feel and enjoy embracing an active lifestyle there.

Sunrise was also recognized for being high performing in care services. U.S. News only gave high-performing accolades to the top 25 percent of communities nationwide.

The Chicago metropolitan area was also among the top areas for senior living in the country, according to U.S. News, with 61 senior living communities making the best list this year.
U.S. News evaluated critical aspects of community life, including:
- Dining and Activities
- Management and Staff Responsiveness
- Overall Value and Social Engagement
- Safety and Caregiving
Only the highest-rated communities in each care level earned a "best" rating, reflecting the viewpoints of more than 540,000 consumer surveys.
The ratings are based on a comprehensive national survey of residents and their family members.
