Highland Park Students Commit to College Sports
Three women athletes from District 113 are moving to the university level in their sports.

Three seniors from Highland Park and Deerfield signed letters of commitment to play sports at the university level Wednesday.
Stela Kukoc of Highland Park High School plans to play volleyball for Miami of Ohio. Erin Cullether of Highland Park High School plans to dive in the swim program at University of New Hampshire. Ruby Powell of Deerfield High School plans to become a member of the swim and dive team at Texas Christian University.

Kukoc is the captain of the varsity volleyball team at Highland Park High School, a four-year varsity starter, four time All-Conference player, and Co-Conference Player of the Year for the CSL North (2014).
She also holds school records for most kills in a season and most digs in a season.

Cullether is captain of the swim/dive team at Highland Park High School, and was All-Conference her junior and senior year. She broke the school six-dive record twice, and finished in second place in conference in 2013 and 2014.
Powell is captain of the swim/dive team and four-year varsity letterman at Deerfield High School. She looks to compete in the IHSA State Finals for the fourth consecutive year at the end of this month, finished in the top 10 with the 200-yard medley relay in 2012, and has earned two top 10 finishes each year in the individual 100-yard backstroke.
