Highland Park Woman Fights For Clean Air in Washington
Kelly Nichols is among hundreds of mothers lobbying for America's Clean Power Plan on Capitol Hill.

A Highland Park woman is among hundreds of mothers from across the nation today on Capitol Hill to support America’s Clean Power Plan.
Kelly Nichols will be one of those gathered for a “Play-in for Climate Action” protest to address climate change and air pollution, according to the Lake County News-Sun.
“It feels like I’m actually making a difference,” said Nichols, the Illinois field organizer for the group Moms Clean Air Force.

She will meet with U.S. Senators from Illinois, Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk, asking them to support America’s Clean Power Plan, which is to reduce dangerous greenhouse gas emissions from power plants by 30 percent below 2005 levels by the year 2030.
