Highland Park's Memorial Day Ceremony Moved Indoors

This year’s Memorial Day ceremony in Highland Park has been moved indoors in anticipation of inclement weather Monday.

The ceremony is now set to take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 25 at the Elm Place School Auditorium at 2031 N. Sheridan Rd.

This year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4737 has selected Mr. Edward Weiler to be the “Hero Among Us” honoree. Weiler is a World War II Veteran in the U.S. Army Air Corps and a former Commander of the VFW and American Legion.

Among the guest speakers will be Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering.
