Highwood, Lake Bluff Men Were Drunk During Crashes: Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Highland Park police blotter from Nov. 11 to Nov. 17.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
RETAIL THEFT
Someone stole two smartphones valued at $1,900 that had been on display around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at an unspecified business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Cody Maas, 25, of the 200 block of Washington Avenue, Highwood, was arrested shortly before 8 p.m. on Nov. 12 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater after officers investigated a one-car crash in the 1800 block of Elmwood Drive. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Stephen Lunardi, 24, of the 13000 block of West Heiden Circle, Lake Bluff, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more after officers arrived at the scene of a three-car crash at the intersection of Skokie Valley and Half Day roads. He was also issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Ali Azimov, 36, of the 400 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, was arrested around 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 13 in his block of residence and charged with domestic battery after police were called to a report of an argument.
