Four shoplifters steal over $5,000 from Ulta Beauty; a missing person call results in a warrant arrest: Highland Park Police Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

- Four shoplifters stole more than $5,000 worth of health and beauty items from Ulta Beauty, 135 Skokie Valley Road, between 1 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 26.
- Two shoplifters stole multiple health care items from the Walgreens at 632 Roger Williams Ave. around 2 p.m. on Nov. 27. No detailed descriptions were available from police in either incident.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 500 block of Green Bay Road found someone broke into their home through a door prior to the evening of Nov. 29. There were no items noted as stolen at the time of the report, and no suspects had been identified.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Amy Gillespie, 35, of the 5200 block of West Berenice Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on Nov. 25 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the area of Skokie Valley and Half Day roads. She was also issued a failure to signal ticket.

Brandon Montgomery, 46, of the 400 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. on Nov. 26 on an warrant issued after he failed to appear Cook County in court. Officers had been called to his home for a report of a missing person. Police reported that person returned home a short time later, and Montgomery was taken to the Lake County Jail to be booked.
Cristian Guzman, 22, of the 2300 block of Rosewood Lane, Round Lake Beach, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 30 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue. He was also issued a speeding ticket.
Michael Meo, 38, of the 3500 block of Prestwick Lane, Northbrook, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Dec. 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road. He was also issued an improper lane usage ticket.
