How to Report Potholes In Highland Park

Winter weather typically causes an increase in potholes. Here's how to report streets in need of repair in Highland Park.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — As the weather fluctuates in the Chicagoland, Highland Park residents may notice more potholes on city streets.

Potholes occur with the onset of warmer weather and freeze-thaw cycles, typically when precipitation seeps through the surface pavement into the sub-pavement, which creates an expansion of the area, Highland Park officials said.

During winter months, when asphalt plants are closed, potholes are temporarily repaired with cold patch. When asphalt plants reopen in the spring, permanent pavement patching will take place.
