HIGHLAND PARK, IL - Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering, a candidate in the Democratic primary for Illinois 10th District U.S. House of Representatives posted a selfie of her and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton on her Facebook page Thursday.
The caption was simple. “The women of 2016. #ImWithHer.”
Reaction from commenters was mixed, with some supporting the apparent endorsement and others showing disappointment that Rotering is supporting Clinton rather than Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, Clinton’s chief rival in this year’s primary.
Rotering faces former U.S. Congressman Brad Schneider in the 10th District primary, with the winner facing off against current officeholder Bob Dold in the general election.
