Highland Park Woman Robbed, Beaten, Held On Hourslong Drive: Cops
The 23-year-old Kansas man faces several felony charges after he was tracked down by state police.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A Kansas man faces multiple felonies after he allegedly robbed, beat and refused to let a Highland Park women get out of his car for hours last week until state police caught up to him in Bollingbrook, police said.
Diamonte D. Jeans, 23, of the 600 block of South Kansas Avenue in Wichita, Kansas was arrested at 11:34 p.m. on May 1 and charged with felony domestic battery, unlawful restraint and battery after he reportedly forced a woman he knew to stay in his car as he drove around throughout the afternoon, striking her and stealing her money, according to police.
The woman was able to contact police from inside the moving vehicle, and police were able to track down her location.

State police pulled over the car and arrested Jeans in the vicinity of Bollingbrook, police said.

Jeans was turned over to Highland Park police and ordered held at Lake County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $150,000 bond ahead of a May 8 court appearance, according to the sheriff's office.
According to court records, he was arrested by Mundelein police on March 14 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and interfering with a report of domestic battery. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of battery in exchange for a sentence of 12 months supervision on April 27 – four days before being arrested again.
