Highland Park High School Senior Brett Davidson won IHSA 3A all-state honors at the Cross Country State Finals in Peoria Saturday, finishing 14th overall, finishing a three mile course in 14 minutes, 40 seconds.

Brett is the undisputed leader of a talented Highland Park team, which had a great chance for qualifying together were it not for the difficult weather and course conditions at the Regional competition last Saturday. They will be back in full force next year, racing for a coveted spot on the line at Detweiler Park in Peoria. No doubt the example of Brett Davidson as a leader will resonate for years to come. Brett’s work ethic is unparalleled and his character is exemplified by the joy on his face as he congratulates winner Kevin Salvano of Buffalo Grove.
