HPHS Swimmer Excels at State Competition

Highland Park High School swimmer Levy Nathan earned podium finishes in three events and qualified and swam in the maximum of seven allowed at the Discover Student Loans Illinois Swimming Senior Championships over the weekend.

Nathan was among the top eight finishers in the 800 meter free (8:50.42, 8th place), 400 meter free (4:12.76, 5th place) and 1500 meter free (16:44.51, 4th place) in the meet that included high school swimmers at least 15 years of age and some college swimmers.

Nathan was also awarded the Rookie of the Meet as selected by all State coaches as the most promising newcomer.
