HPHS Teacher Finishes 3rd on Jeopardy!

Andy Anderson accumulated more than $3,000 before wagering it all in Final Jeopardy! on Tuesday.

Highland Park High School math teacher Andy Anderson reached a lifelong goal with his appearance on the longtime popular Jeopardy! television show this week, although that appearance proved to be short lived.

Anderson walked home with $1,000 as the third place finisher following the show that aired on Tuesday, September 15 - according to the Daily North Shore.

Anderson, who had accumulated $3,400 through single and double Jeopardy, had wagered it all on the Final Jeopardy! category: Famous Thinkers.

But he answered “Alexander Hamilton,” while the correct response was “Adam Smith.”

Audrey Watkins-Fox of New York, another challenger on the show, won. Defending champion Ed Kim, from California, was the runner-up on Tuesday.
