Important Message from the NSWRD

Please do not flush paper products other than toilet paper

The North Shore Water Reclamation District (NSWRD) needs your help, especially now! Please think before you flush.

We know toilet paper is in short supply and many individuals think other products can be substituted products because they say flushable. Simply because a product can be flushed does not mean that it can be handled by our sewer system. The only paper product that should be flushed is toilet paper. That means, facial tissues, disinfecting wipes, napkins, paper towels, diapers, and personal hygiene products and more, might create backups and overflows in our sewer system, potentially causing additional public health problems during this pandemic.

We sincerely appreciate your help to keep NSWRD’s Water Reclamation Facilities operating without problems.
