The Lake County Chamber of Commerce in its 99th year of existence is changing its almost century long annual dinner format.
Instead of its traditional formal business style annual dinner meeting, this year it will be an evening of fun and networking. The public is invited to attend.
Stewart Kerr, executive director of the Gurnee based organization serving businesses in Lake County, said the gala event will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 16, in the Independence Grove Forest Preserve located on Route 137 and a few yards east of Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville.

He said the entertainment highlight will be a presentation by members of the Improv Play House in Libertyville. Kerr added that sometimes a fun light touch is needed in business as the event program indicates.
Kerr said there will be a lot more fun. This includes tickets to Chicago baseball games, theatre, Six Flags Great America, admission to Key Lime Cove and other desirable items.
