At the Lake County Clerk’s office between 4-5 p.m. on Dec. 22, two candidates filed for the same school board office. Those candidates are considered simultaneous filers, and the lottery will determine who will be listed last.
“There is statistical evidence that voters will sometimes choose the first or last name they read on the ballot. Therefore, some candidates believe that being listed in either one of those positions can be an advantage,” stated Wyckoff.
