Featured Obituary:
On Sunday, December 29, 2019, Daniel (Dan) Walter Tepke, loving husband, father of two, and grandfather of five, passed away at the age of 72.
Dan was born to Louis and Florence Tepke in Brooklyn, New York on September 25, 1947. He received his bachelor’s degree from North Park College in 1970 and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago in 1982.
His distinguished career included time as a lecturer in marketing and Director of the University of Chicago’s Innovative New Product Development Laboratory, the Associate Dean for Management and Budget at the University of Chicago School of Business, Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Golden Rule Insurance Company in Indianapolis, and Senior Vice-President of North Park University.
During his time at North Park, he served as interim co-president of the university. Dan started the Satori consulting firm and authored a book entitled Hatching Your Million Dollar Business. Dan served on numerous not-for-profit boards including the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Galter Life Center, Albany Park Community Center, and Edgebrook Covenant Church.
Dan had a life-long love of athletics. He played and coached football, played baseball, and enjoyed following his favorite teams including the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Butler Bulldogs.
Most importantly, Dan loved his family. He never missed a ballet recital, play, game, or competition. Dan was a talented woodworker and enjoyed fishing, reading, church, and spending time at his cabin that he and his father built in southern Canada.Read more from N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home »
