Shirley Elizabeth Davis, age 88 went home to glory on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at her daughter Cordia’s home in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by her family. She was born March 9, 1932 in Stotesbury, West Virginia, the eighth of ten children born to the union of Abraham Pannie and Hallie M. (Dyson) Taylor.

Shirley completed her early education in the Chicago Public School system and graduated from McKinley High School, Chicago, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Fleming Davis, Jr. and from their union they had nine children, she was a loving mother, dedicating herself to raising her family.

Shirley was employed at Lake Forest Hospital for approximately 15 years in environmental services. Later in life she found joy working in the retail end of the interior and decorating industry. A member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Shirley had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Living the life of a strong Christian woman she helped family and friends in countless ways, she believed in reaching out to anyone in need in the community.
