Featured Obituary:

Lillian “Lin” Grace (Marshall) Reichenbach, 92, passed away peacefully in Kenosha, WI in the presence of family on October 14, 2021.

Lillian was born the fourth child to John and Ruth (Woods) Marshall on July 13, 1929 in Cambridge, MA. She was raised in the city and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School in 1947, and she later received her Nursing diploma from the New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. In 1957, Lillian joined the US Navy and served nearly four years as a Lieutenant Junior Grade stationed in Taiwan before marrying Ralph Kenneth Reichenbach on January 9, 1960 and then moving to Deerfield, IL where she spent the majority of her life.

Lillian believed in educating, serving, and bettering her community in any ways possible. She was an active member of the St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church congregation during her lifetime, serving on the vestry and teaching Sunday school. She was also a role model to the Moraine Girl Scouts for many years as a leader, camp nurse, and trip chaperone and received award recognition for her involvement. In the 1970s, Lillian volunteered with the Deerfield Fire Department teaching CPR until Highland Park Hospital created the community health nurse position. As the community health nurse, she continued her teaching of CPR and first aid to thousands of people for over 25 years — if you lived on the North Shore and took a CPR class between 1975 and 1999, Lillian was probably your instructor. During her time with Highland Park Hospital, she also offered babysitting and smoking cessation classes and participated in health fairs within the community. She passionately held the position of primary nurse at Ravinia Festival until 2009, assisting festival goers with any unexpected medical needs during their concert experience.
