Featured Obituary:

Alfred L. “Sonny” Gastfield, born July 4, 1935, was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Catherine (Glader), and his siblings Virginia, William and Theodore. His sister Marlyn resides in Texas.

Alfred was a loving husband to the late Therese (Obenauf) and devoted father to his children. His immediate family include his son Alfred Jr. “Larry”, his wife Janet and their sons Robert and Nikolas. Ronald his children, the late Sheilah, Tad, Roland, and Conrad. Steven (Molly) and his daughters, Abby and Esme. And Tracy with her daughter, Madeline.

Alfred devoted 47 years in service to the people of Deerfield through his work as a Fireman with the Deerfield Bannockburn Fire Protection District. Alfred enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, cooking, telling “dad” jokes, and spending time with his family. He will be missed.
