Pair Steals 'Bulk Amount' Of Toilet Paper From Walgreens: Blotter

Shoplifters targeted toilet paper Thursday in Highland Park, according to police.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

VANDALISM
Yellow graffiti was discovered on an electrical panel of a building in the 800 block of Central Avenue on the afternoon of March 17.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone damaged the plastic train schedule holder on the exterior of the Metra station in the 1700 block of St. John's Avenue, police were told around 5:15 a.m. on March 25.

SHOPLIFTING
Staff at the Walgreens, 632 Roger Williams Avenue, reported around 5:15 p.m. on March 26 that an unidentified man and woman stole a large amount of toilet paper from the store. Police said the complaint did not specify the amount or value of the stolen toilet paper.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Malia Perez, 23, of the 7500 block of 38th Avenue in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on March 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. Officers also issued her citations for disobeying a traffic signal and improper lane usage.
