Police Find Man With Morphine During Traffic Stop

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Kamaal Gray, 21, Great Lakes was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding 35+ mph over the limit after being stopped by police near Half Day Road and Skokie Valley Road at 3:41 a.m. on June 2.

IDENTITY THEFT (WARRANT)

Lucia Sanchez, 53, of the 2100 block of St. Johns Avenue turned herself in on an outstanding Highland Park warrant for two counts of identity theft at 12:04 a.m. on June 3.

ASSAULT

Anais Gomez, 20, Skokie was arrested and charged with assault after making verbal threats during a dispute in the 700 block of Judson Avenue at 12:38 a.m. on June 4.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Henry Dolan, 18, Lake Forest was arrested and charged with driving without headlights illuminated, improper lane usage, possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (morphine) after being stopped by police near Park Avenue West and Skokie Valley Road at 12:19 a.m. on June 6.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A Lexus RX350 was keyed by an unknown person on the trunk sometime between May 30 and 31 while parked near Whistler Road and Tower East.

BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

Unknown person(s) took three watches from an unlocked vehicle while parked on the street in the 3400 block of Old Mill Road between May 28 and June 2.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A window on a residence in the 1700 block of Elmwood Place was reported damaged by a bb gun pellet at 11:53 a.m. on June 5.

THEFT

On June 4 at approximately 11:30 p.m., an unknown subject entered a storage area at a business in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road, forced open a locked liquor cabinet and stole several cases and individual boxes of liquor by placing them in a cart and exiting previously locked doors.

BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

Unknown person(s) took cash, a backpack, laptop and a suitcase with clothing from two different unlocked vehicles while parked in the 800 block of Old Elm Road between June 4 and 5.
