Port Clinton Art Festival Welcomes 260 Artists for 33rd Year

Amdur Productions presents the Port Clinton Art Festival in downtown Highland Park Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28th

The Port Clinton Art Festival, recognized as one of the top ten fine art & design shows by Sunshine Artist Magazine, returns to downtown Highland Park for its 33rd year, Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28th. Fun for the entire family, this highly anticipated FREE event attracts thousands of guests from across the Midwest and features more than 260 of the country’s most celebrated artists.

Kicking off the festival weekend is the 10th Annual Taste of Highland Park, opening Friday, August 26 at 5 p.m. and running in conjunction with the Art Festival throughout the weekend. The Taste features food and libations from many of Highland Park's most notable restaurants. In addition to the tasty fare, festival-goers will enjoy a variety of live musical performances from acclaimed bands and performers throughout the weekend.

This year, Amdur Productions debuts Cheering for Charities, a segment of the Port Clinton Art Festival that features community non-profits and spotlights great work being done locally. Participating organizations include: K-9 Reading Buddies, Casa Lake County, PAWS Chicago, Friends for Health, Lakeside Congregation, Rimland Services NFP, Lake County Forest Preserves & Preservation Foundation, Willow House, The Art Center Highland Park and Highland Park Public Library.

“Amdur Productions is delighted to expand its community impact beyond art and culture and align with area non-profits to create more awareness for these organizations,” says Amy Amdur, Founder of Amdur Productions. “We want attendees to appreciate art and value culture at all of our events. We thought by creating an area for charities we could also inspire people to appreciate what they have and cultivate a giving spirit in our community,” she added.

In addition to discovering art in all mediums and experiencing art demonstrations, young artists, ages 18 and under, shine in the Youth Art Division of the show. These young talented artists have an opportunity to exhibit and participate in a real art festival. Throughout the weekend, families can enjoy art activities such as an art scavenger hunt, kids spin art and clay modeling.
