Rebecca's Dream Offers Programs to Promote Mental Health Month
Free programs and discount card offered throughout May

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., — Rebecca’s Dream celebrates May’s Mental Health Awareness month through public education, advocacy campaign, and a wellness card offering free and discounted classes, treatments, and healthy foods from 16 local businesses.
The four free programs designed to raise awareness and promote mental health will be offered to Highland Park and surrounding communities during May include:
1. May 2: Movie, based on a true story, starring Oscar-nominated actor Mark Ruffalo, who is hospitalized after a manic breakdown. He becomes primary caregiver for his daughters and finds himself struggling to cope. At the Highland Park Library at 7:00pm. For more information visit www.hplibrary.org

2. May 10: Teens & Transitions — What is normal...what is not. A panel discussion led by HPHS staff and mental-health experts will offer information for parents to help their teens transition to Highland Park High School, at HPHS at 7:00pm.
3. May 10: Yoga and Meditation Class open to current 8th grade and Highland Park High School students, at HPHS at 7:00pm. Bring your friends.

4. May 23: “Middle Years” A discussion for parents on helping middle schoolers navigate their social and academic lives. At Edgewood Middle School at 1:00pm.
Wellness Card
Self-care and a healthy lifestyle are important components to strong mental health. Rebecca’s Dream has teamed up with Highland Park businesses that promote a healthy lifestyle with a Rebecca’s Dream Wellness Card. The wellness card offers free and substantially discounted classes, drinks, food, and services throughout May. Cards may be purchased for $25 from www.rebeccasdream.org or by calling 773.42DREAM.
“The goal is to promote like-minded local businesses and to educate our community as to all the resources that are available to maintain good mental health,” said Beth Goshen, Mental Health Month Chair and Highland Park resident.
