Renovation at Braeside Elementary Would be More Feasible, Architects Say
Some students in southeast Highland Park would have new school if new seven-school model is adopted and passed by voters.

A Chicago-based architect firm has selected Braeside Elementary School as their preferred choice to serve students in southeast Highland Park as the seven-school model is under consideration by the North Shore District 112 Board of Education.
The Highland Park News reported Friday that architects from Nagle Hartray figured Braeside would be less costly to renovate than Ravinia Elementary School, the other location being considered if the reorganization plan is approved by the board and passed by voters in the April 2015 election.
The News also reported that the Braeside plan, which would require a 10,500-square foot addition, would be “less disruptive” than the partial demolition and reconstruction required at Ravinia.
