Seniors, some of you may want, (or need), to retake the ACT or SAT. Here are some reasons why:
• You only took the ACT without writing, and now you find that a college requires the writing section.
• You are hoping to raise your score a bit and you prepared over the summer, or you will take a prep course early this fall.

• A college test score average is just over your score and you want to try again, just in case.
• You took the test last year, but you were not feeling well or had a lot going on.

• You qualified as a National Merit Semi-Finalist and you did not take the SAT last year. (They require you to take it once to verify your PSAT score.)
• You have found a scholarship that has a test score requirement and you want to improve your chances.
• Your parents are nagging you to take it again and you want to calm them down!
Why you might NOT want to retake the ACT or SAT:
• You are applying to a highly selective college that requires you to send all scores…and your current score already puts you in a good place.
• You have already taken the test 5 times …… really? Focus on your grades!
• You are over-stressed about testing and your scores are just fine; no need to add to the stress of senior year.
• Your score is already quite impressive.
