Donations are sought for a month-long food drive the city of Highland Park is hosting to assist the Moraine Township Food Pantry in maintaining a secure stock of food. Residents and businesses are encouraged to bring fresh food items to City Hall, 1707 St. John's Avenue throughout the month of September, which is Hunger Action Month. Donations will be accepted Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.The following is a list of desired items.- Canned tuna- Canned fruit- Apple sauce- Cereal- Shelf-stable milk- Pasta sauce – all kinds- Cooking oil- Jellies or jams- Pinto or black beans- Coffee- Pasta- Canned vegetables- Crackers – all kinds- ToiletriesThe Township's Food Pantry is open to income-qualified Moraine Township residents Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about the food pantry, please call (847) 432-3240.
