So, what is the GYROTONIC® method that helps golfers improve their golf swing, dancers achieve greater flexibility and those who sit at a desk all day improve their posture?

It is a revolutionary mind/body movement system of gentle circular motion, performed on specialized equipment with weights and pulleys that work to simultaneously stretch and strengthen the entire body with minimal effort. The origins of this movement come from yoga, tai chi, dance, gymnastics and swimming, and it has been described by many exercise professionals as a breakthrough system for fitness and rehabilitative exercise. The exercises helps enhance the performance of anyone interested in health and wellness-based sports and activities such as golf, yoga, tennis, dance, and martial arts.

In honor of May being National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, and in celebration of its one-year anniversary SPYRL Chicago will be hosting a customer appreciation party on Wednesday, May 2nd from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at their Downtown Highland Park studio located at 1781 Green Bay Road in Highland Park.

“We are thrilled to be able to share GYROTONIC® training to Chicagoans and help improve their overall wellbeing, prevent injuries, and improve athletic performance,” says Amy Pena, SPYRL’s director and senior instructor who has taught GYROTONIC all over the world for the past 13 years.

SPYRL’s teaching of fluid movement helps anyone achieve flexibility by creating balance and movement efficiency through stimulating the nervous system, mobilizing the spine, strengthening the core, and increasing agility, as well as easing chronic pain.

Pena and her SPYRL team also work with many seniors who have increased their range of motion and stamina. This system helps strengthen hip and shoulder turns, improves cardiovascular fitness and makes the whole body more open and flexible.

SPYRL Chicago is looking forward to celebrating its anniversary on May 2nd. The public is invited to experience GYRONTONIC first hand with a FREE demonstration. Current and new clients are encouraged to bring a friend and each will receive a 50 percent discount on a private GYROTONIC session. Plus, all guests will receive a free pair of orange socks (since SPYRL has a no-shoe policy)

and will have the chance to meet instructors Amy Pena and Caitlin Foster. In celebration of May being National Physical Fitness and Sports month, SPYRL will also be offering class and private session specials throughout the month.

SPYRL Chicago offers GYROTONIC® group and private sessions. They also offer certified GYROTONIC® instructor courses. For more information on class schedule please call 847-FIT(348)-0822 or visit www.SPYRLChicago.com
