Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Several Charges for Indy Man: Cops

A man from Waukegan was stopped for speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the limit on Park Avenue West.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Darnell L. Whitehead, 27, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and driving with one defective headlight after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road at 12:23 a.m. on November 12.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Francisco Miguel Rios, 20, Highwood was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by the police in the 3300 block of University Ave. at 2:48 a.m. on November 12.

AGGRAVATED UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPON

Elias E Quiroz-Ortiz, 22, Indianapolis was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (no FOID card), unlawful possession of a firearm with ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended driver’s license, expired license plates and illegal transportation of alcohol after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the 600 block of Crofton Avenue South at 11:55 p.m. on November 13.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Nicole M. Evenson, 30, Highwood was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle after being stopped by police in the 800 block of Central Avenue at 11:07 p.m. on November 14.

SPEEDING 35+ MPH OVER LIMIT

Joshua Lee Adams, 27, Waukegan was arrested and charged with no valid driver’s license and speeding over 35 miles per hour after being stopped by police in the 1400 block of Park Avenue West at 3:03 a.m. on November 15.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Sometime between November 2 and November 9, unknown person(s) entered a residence in the 300 block of Park Avenue. Cash and jewelry were reported taken. No forced entry was reported.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Sometime between November 6 and November 11, unknown person(s) threw an egg at a residence on the 60 block of Laurel Avenue. The front door was damaged.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

Sometime during the evening hours of November 13, four individuals were observed attempting to burglarize a vehicle in the 1500 block of McDaniels Avenue. No items were reported taken.
