Thieves Enter 16 Vehicles, Stealing Two: Highland Park Crimes

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. On June 26 it was reported that an woman entered an unlocked vehicle located in the 1500 block of Oakwood Avenue and stole various items at approximately 12:30 a.m. on June 17.

On June 28 it was reported that someone left a business without paying for service located in the first block of Skokie Valley Road at approximately 6 a.m. on June 28.
STOLEN VEHICLE
On July 1 it was reported that someone stole an unlocked vehicle parked in a residential driveway with the keys left inside located in the 2900 block of Lexington Lane West between midnight and 3 a.m. on July 1.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 1 it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 2900 block of Lexington Way West and stole various items between midnight and 3 a.m. on July 1.

On July 1 it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 1000 block of Auburn Avenue and stole various items during the overnight hours of June 30 and July 1.

On July 1 it was reported that someone entered an unlocked vehicle located in the 1400 block of Eastwood Avenue during the overnight hours of June 30 and July 1, although no items were reported missing.

THEFT
On July 1 it was reported that someone from a business stole various jewelry items from a residence located in the 2700 block of St. Johns Avenue on June 27, 2017.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On July 1 it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 2100 block of Churchill Lane during the overnight hours of June 30 and July 1. No items were reported missing.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 1 it was reported that someone entered two unlocked vehicles parked in a residential driveway located in the 1100 block of Princeton Avenue and stole various items during the overnight hours of June 30 and July 1.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On July 1 it was reported that someone entered an unoccupied residential home located in the first block Lakewood Place and stole various items between June 25 and July 1.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On July 1 it was reported that someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a residential driveway located in the 1300 block of Sherwood Drive during the overnight hours of June 30 and July 1. No items were reported missing.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 1 it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 1100 block of Princeton Avenue during the overnight hours of June 30 and July 1. No items were reported missing.
RETAIL THEFT
On July 1 it was reported that a woman violated a no trespass order and attempted to steal merchandise from a business located in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. She was issued an administrative citation for retail theft.
THEFT
On July 1 it was reported that someone stole multiple items from a business located in the 800 block of Ea Old Elm Road during the overnight hours of June 29 and June 30 and June 30 and July 1.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 1 it was reported that someone entered a vehicle located in the 2100 block of Churchill Lane and stole various items during the overnight hours of June 30 and July 1.
ARRESTS
NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
Carlos Morales-Martinez, 36, of the 100 block of High Street in Highwood, was arrested and charged with no valid driver’s license after police responded to a traffic crash near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West at 10:55 a.m. on June 28.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Priya B. Patel, 42, of the 1700 block of Stoneleigh Court in Lake Forest, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding 26 – 30 mph over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Skokie Valley Road at 9:13 p.m. on June 28.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Adam Michael Alvarado, 21, of the 500 block of Green Bay Road in Highwood, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of the Edens Expressway around 2:30 a.m. on June 29.
NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
Fredo Demaret, 22, of the 500 block of Douglas Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with no valid driver’s license after police responded to a traffic crash in the 3000 block of Skokie Valley Road shortly after 4 p.m. on June 29.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
Pedro A. Manteca, 19, of the 4500 block of South Sawyer Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to vehicle, no valid driver’s license and speeding after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Central Avenue on June 29 shortly after 6 a.m.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
Luis A. Nieves, 27, of the 6100 block of North Mozart Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to vehicle after police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Central Avenue on June 29 at 6:18 a.m.
NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
Angel C. Rodarte, 37, of the 1800 block of Wedgewood Drive in Gurnee, was arrested and charged with no valid driver’s license, driving without a valid registration and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after police responded to a traffic crash in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road around 7 p.m. on July 2.
