Tricky Thief Slips Away With Expensive Jewelry: Highland Park Crime Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Highland Park Police Department.

THEFT

  • Residential - March 30 at 4:06 p.m.
    • A resident living on the 2600 block of St. Johns Avenue reported that items had been taken from their property. the total amount of loss is $60.
  • Bike - April 3 at 11:47 a.m.
    • A resident living on the 2300 block of Shady Lane told police that their bike was taken on March 29.
  • Vehicle - April 3 at 8:42 a.m.
    • A resident reported that their license plate had been taken off their car.
  • Jewelry - April 5 at 1:55 p.m.
    • While a resident was parked in the 100 block of Omaha Street, a man approached them to give them an item, they told authorities. It wasn't until the man left that the resident noticed their $2,800 jewelry had been taken from them.
  • Retail - April 5 at 8:54 p.m.
    • Staff at the Walgreens located at 655 Elm Place stated that a man had taken several items without paying.
