Mark Kirk tweeted a thank you note from President Barack Obama for meeting with Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland, his Democratic opponent in November's election, Rep. Tammy Duckworth, released a campaign commercial that quoted Kirk doubting Garland would be confirmed.

More damning, however, was the attack ad's assertion that Kirk would support GOP presidential front runner Donald Trump if he was the party's candidate.
