Highland Park motorist charged with DUI after late-night crash; report of impaired driver results in arrest of Lincolnwood man: HP Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS
SHOPLIFTING
- Someone stole $31 worth of health care products from the CVS at 1539 Clavey Road during the night of Dec. 13 or early morning of Dec. 14.
- In the early evening of Dec. 15, two unidentified thieves stole various items worth $300 to $400 from the Walgreens at 632 Roger Williams Ave.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
An officer on patrol around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 15 noticed a window had been smashed at HP Food and Beverage, 1855 Deerfield Road. Someone appeared to have tried to get inside, but it was not known whether anything was stolen at the time of the report.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Saul Rosales-Ruiz, 18, of the 1800 block of 16th Street, North Chicago, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 9 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of drugs and alcohol and driving without a valid license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue. He was also issued citations for speeding, operating an uninsured vehicle, operating a vehicle with expired registration and speeding.
Vyacheslav Maksymenko, 43, of the 1000 block of Parkside Avenue in Baraboo, Wisconsin, was arrested around 10 p.m. on Dec. 9 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 41 and Route 60. He was also issued citations for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver.
Samuel Yim, 31, of the 1900 block of Green Bay Road, Highland Park, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers arrived at the scene of a one-car crash at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Half Day Road. Yim, who was not injured in the crash, was also issued citations for possession of a small amount of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

John Gonzalez, 46, of the 7300 block of North Keeler Avenue, Lincolnwood, was arrested around 4:45 a.m. on Dec. 13 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police were called to the 1300 block of Half Day Road for a report of an impaired driver.
Matthew Parks, 23, of the first block of Northridge Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue. He was also issued improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol citations.
Priti Dhami, 23, of the 1300 block of South White Oak Drive, Waukegan, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. She was also issued speeding and improper lane usage citations.
Alex Joines, 28, of the 1500 block of West Dakota Street, Milwaukee, was arrested around 4:15 a.m. on Dec. 15 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was also issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device.
Mate Milkovic, 74, of the 6400 block of North Seeley Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 15 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Old Deerfield Road. Police also issued him a citation for failure to yield on a private road.
Shani Mizrahi, 42, of the 1700 block of Sherwood Road, Highland Park, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 11 and charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery after police were called to an argument in the 200 block of Skokie Valley Road.
