Would-Be Burglar Severely Damages House Door: Highland Park Crime Blotter

The crime blotter covers incidents in Highland Park from Feb. 2-8.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following is the most recent crime blotter from the Highland Park Police Department.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

  • Graffiti - Feb. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
    • Police received a report of graffiti on an electrical utility box at The Lot at 525 Central Ave.
  • Graffiti - Feb. 4 at 11:30 a.m.
    • Police received a report of graffiti in the parking garage at Keshet at 799 Central Ave.
  • Graffiti - Feb. 7 at 5:09 p.m.
    • A resident reported several instances of graffiti in the 700 block of Burchell Avenue. The Public Works Department removed the graffiti.

BURGLARY

  • Residential - Feb. 2 at 3:52 p.m.
    • A Highland Park resident reported a burglary attempt at their home in the 1900 block of Keats Lane. The resident told police a man tried to get in through the side door, which was severely damaged according to police.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • Vehicle - Feb. 8 at 4:23 p.m.
    • A vehicle owner reported that their vehicle's hood was scratched several time while it was in the 700 block of St. Johns Ave. The total estimated cost of the damage is unknown.
