(lakecountygazette.com) — Hillside households paid an average of $8,907 in 2024 property taxes toward police and fire pensions, one of the highest per-household burdens in Illinois, according to state data. By comparison, Beach Park residents paid $531 per household, and many other suburbs fell somewhere in between, highlighting how unevenly pension costs hit different communities across the state.
