4 DUI Arrests In Hinsdale: Cops

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter this week. Here is information from the reports:

DUIs

  • Joseph M. Chiavaroli, 42, of Boulder, Colorado, was arrested about 11 p.m. March 25 in the 200 block of North Garfield Street on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured vehicle and improper lighting. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol level. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Casandra Edwards, 31, of University Park, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at Salt Creek Lane and Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, and stopping, parking or standing where prohibited. Police said she was seen sleeping in the driver's seat. She submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Robert T. Spencer, 45, of Yorkville, was arrested about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of South County Line Road on charges of DUI and stopping, standing or parking where prohibited. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Jeremiah N. Williams, 30, of Westchester, was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Sunday at York Road and The Lane on charges of DUI and stopping, parking or standing where prohibited. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Drugs

  • Javier Avila, 30, of Chicago, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was the passenger in a car driven by Bulmaro Jacobo, 31, of Chicago, who was stopped for a registration inquiry. Jacobo was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and illegal stopping, standing or parking where prohibited.
  • Police were called about a person who was slumped over in a parked car shortly after noon Monday at the Grant Square parking lot. Police and fire personnel woke the person, who refused medical attention. The person had a plastic baggy with a white powdery substance. The person was released. Charges are pending the results of a lab report.

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 400 block of South County Line Road told police March 22 that someone used the resident's identity to open a utility account. The victim received a notice from collections claiming a $334 balance.
  • A resident in the 5700 block of Foxgate Lane reported March 25 that someone opened two fraudulent bank accounts using the resident's identity.

  • Aaron J. Smith, 25, of La Grange, was cited about 4:30 p.m. March 25 at Wolf Road and 55th Street on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, improper display of registration and expired registration. He had an active arrest warrant from Countryside. He was released to Countryside police.
