American Youth Symphony Orchestra (AYSO) began its inaugural year of training and performance on August 16, 2014. This is a unique opportunity for these students to expand and extend their musical training and experience.

“AYSO will be a wonderful extension to the American Music Institute, where training and performing meet. AYSO will certainly ring true and exhibit the high standards and talent of Chicagoland’s best young artists,” said Remus Badea, AMI’s Executive Director.
AYSO seeks to empower young artists with musical knowledge and imagination, nurturing a love of music and a dedication to the highest standards of performance. By providing professional leadership and inspiration to talented young musicians, AYSO will enable them to expand their training through performances of the highest standards.

Jennifer Nush will conduct and lead the AYSO. She has received a Bachelor’s in Music Education and Masters of Music in Violin Performance and Orchestral Conducting, when she studied with Dr. Sarah Gentry and Dr. Glenn Block. Ms. Nush went on to become the orchestra director for two years at Lincoln-Way North and East High Schools as well as the orchestra director for the Lincoln-Way Youth Strings. She has been conducting her own youth string orchestra, GFC Strings, in the southwest suburbs for 6 years
American Music Institute (AMIMusic.org) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose fundamental mission is to provide high standards of music education to all students for all instruments, levels, ages and styles of music.
All rehearsals and concerts will take place at American Music Institute’s Clarendon Hills Campus, located at 60 55th St in Clarendon Hills. Musicians can register at www.aysomusic.org and can contact AYSO at AMI@amimusic.org or at 630-850-8505.
