HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale man who said earlier this year that his family had become the victim of political harassment found himself in trouble last week, local police said.
The 30-year-old man, who lives in the 5500 block of South Park Avenue, was cited on charges of criminal property damage and criminal trespassing.
Police said the man was seen on surveillance video on Feb. 20 damaging a property in the 5600 block of South Park.
The man was given a no-trespass warning for the property in question. He was given a date to appear in court.
In late February, the man, who opposes Donald Trump, took to local social media to report that youths in his neighborhood have disturbed his house numerous times in the last few months. He said his family was being targeted for their politics.
Hinsdale police said they cited five teens – four from Hinsdale, one from Clarendon Hills – on Feb. 26 on disorderly conduct charges. The boys were alleged to have pounded on the man's door and left.
The man said he lives in a Trump-supporting neighborhood. In 2024, Trump took 50 percent of the vote to Kamala Harris' 43 percent in the man's precinct. Trump took only two other DuPage County precincts in Hinsdale.
Patch reported on the man's contentions in early March. The man released videos of the youths.
