HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale man who went public earlier this year with harassment allegations against pro-Trump youths was apparently doing his own targeting as well, a police report indicates.

Patch obtained the police report involving the 30-year-old man who lives in the 5500 block of South Park Avenue.

He was cited last month on charges of criminal property damage and criminal trespassing, police said.

Shortly after noon Feb. 20, the man was captured on a surveillance camera tearing down a partition installed on the top of a fence in the neighbor's backyard, according to the police report.

About 10 p.m. the following day, the camera showed him on his knees from his property saying, "I'm going to pay for everything" and "Sorry for what I've done," police said.

During the early evening the next day, the man was heard apologizing again: "Please don't ruin my life (redacted). I want to clean up all the trash. I want to pay for everything. The fence, the screens, the broken fences," the report said.

The neighbor told police that on April 1, he collected garbage from his backyard that had built up over the winter. He said he believed the 30-year-old man had thrown the trash over the fence, police said.

In early April, the suspect is seen on camera saying, "You are trash. No wonder your (redacted) left," according to the report.

In early March, the man, who is a critic of Donald Trump, took to social media and spoke to Patch, alleging that neighborhood youths were targeting his family for harassment.

At the time, Hinsdale police said they had cited five teens – four from Hinsdale, one from Clarendon Hills – on Feb. 26 on disorderly conduct charges. The boys were alleged to have pounded on the man's door and left.

The man released videos of the youths and told Patch that he lived in a Trump-supporting neighborhood.

In 2024, Trump took 50 percent of the vote to Kamala Harris' 43 percent in the man's precinct. Trump took only two other DuPage County precincts in Hinsdale.
