Hinsdale Conservative Claims Role In Bailey Campaign; Campaign Won't Say

She has denounced Black people, "Mexican parades," Muslims and the LGBTQ community.

HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale woman who has criticized Black people, Muslims and "Mexican parades" has said she is involved in the GOP gubernatorial candidate's internship program.

In another development, Kristina McCloy, who founded the conservative Concerned Parents of Illinois, donated thousands of dollars to Darren Bailey's campaign.

On social media last year, Bailey's lieutenant governor candidate, Aaron Del Mar, said McCloy would have been an "amazing running mate" had he run for governor himself. She introduced Del Mar at the Bailey campaign's launch in Oak Brook.

In the conservative DuPage Policy Journal, McCloy wrote in late May about Bailey's internship program, saying she would lead it in DuPage County. She said interns would fight Gov. J.B. Pritzker's "Marxist agenda."

On Monday, Patch emailed Jose Durbin, who handles the campaign's media relations, about whether McCloy is involved in the intern operation.

Durbin responded, "Are you a legit reporter?" He did not address whether McCloy held a campaign role.

McCloy, a former Downers Grove Township trustee, did not return a message for comment Monday.

On Aug. 6, McCloy donated $5,000 to Bailey's campaign, according to state election board records. Her husband, William McCloy, contributed $1,000 in the spring.

In 2024, McCloy asserted on the Concerned Parents' Facebook page that schools are hiding the issue of African American children attacking white children.

"Black children on white children attacks are frequently trending on social media," McCloy said. "Schools, parents and towns have been downplaying and even hiding it."

She said some are scared to be at the forefront of the issue for fear of being labeled a racist.

Lately, she has been criticizing Greg Hart, who became Hinsdale's village president last year. He is a former Republican member of the DuPage County Board.

On her Concerned Parents social media page, McCloy criticized Hart for "participation in LGBTQ community events, Mexican parades, Muslim events, public support for (Black Lives Matter), publicly complimenting the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), and thanking Joe Biden for his service."

McCloy said Hart had been weak in his opposition to Pritzker's housing proposal.

Pritzker's proposal, she said, would open the door to "increased Section 8 affordable housing" and more crime. As for crime, she said a Hinsdale robbery suspect did not speak English and lives in an area with a lot of Section 8 housing full of "illegal aliens."

She denounced Hinsdale Republican Kari Galassi, a District 3 member of the DuPage County Board. She said Galassi backed giving money for Section 8 housing, the social services arm of the Islamic Circle of North America and "illegal alien assistance."

McCloy also posted a photo of Galassi wearing a headscarf while attending a Muslim community event, an appearance that McCloy said brought Galassi accusations of political pandering.

Hart said McCloy's commentary seemed to come from 1826, not 2026. Galassi said she offered to meet with McCloy, whom she said denied her invitations.
