Another $54K For Ex-Clarendon Hills Chief
He amassed a lot of sick and vacation time, which he can cash out now.

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – Clarendon Hills' former fire chief is receiving $54,379 in vacation and sick time now that he has left the fire department.
That is in addition to the $50,000 that former Chief Brian Leahy got as part of a settlement with the village two months ago.
For his sick time, Leahy is receiving 480 hours, amounting to $36,253. He is getting 240 hours of vacation, totaling $18,126.

In February, Leahy and the Village Board struck a severance deal. This follows a 52-year career with the fire department, the last 39 as its chief.

Leahy was put on administrative leave in early November and never worked for the department again. He received his pay and health insurance through April 1, his agreed-upon last day.
His leave was related to an inquiry into the firefighters' compensation system. Earlier this month, the investigation found more than 1,500 violations of the village's firefighter callback policy over three years.
Leahy has not returned messages for comment.
The severance agreement bars Leahy and the village government from disparaging each other.
