Car Theft, Break-ins: Hinsdale Cops

A car was stolen from a driveway in a local neighborhood, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Car theft

  • A 2019 Ford Fusion was stolen overnight April 27 in the 200 block of East 55th Street. The owner's keys and wallet were inside the car. The car was recovered the next day in Cicero. The case is pending.

Car break-ins

  • A person entered two cars and rummaged through the interiors between noon April 27 and noon April 28 in the 800 block of South Lincoln Street.

Gold bracelet stolen

  • A gold bracelet was stolen between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. April 13 at Magnolia Senior Living, 10 N. Washington St. The crime was reported April 25. The case is pending.

Checks stolen

  • Mathers Law and Tax Services, 930 N. York Road, reported Friday the theft of two business checks that it did not receive. The case is pending.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 5700 block of Sutton Place told police that a fraudulent unemployment claim was filed using her identity between April 22 and April 29.
  • A resident in the 5700 block of Foxgate Lane told police Saturday that someone opened a bank account and tried to open a credit card account using the resident's identity. No monetary loss was reported.

Checks intercepted

  • A person intercepted money that the victim tried to send to a family member through a banking app April 8. The victim, who lives in the 600 block of Mills Street, knows the suspect. The crime was reported Friday. The case is pending.
